WHAT DO WE TEACH AT FORZA JIU JITSU?
We teach the martial arts styles Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) and Kickboxing.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a grappling style which has strong emphasis on fighting on the ground. You will learn to take down an opponent, control them on the ground through pins and holds, and eventually applying submission holds (strangles and joint locks).
Kickboxing is a striking martial art which students will learn to move and strike while on the feet. Our kickboxing program involves different forms of striking from boxing, kickboxing as well as Muay Thai Kickboxing.
WHO ARE THE CLASSES FOR?
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is an art suitable for everyone, male, female, kids and adults of all skill levels. We have kids classes from ages 6-9 and 10-14.
For adults (15 years and above) we have beginner classes for those new to BJJ which will introduce them to the art and give them a basic understanding of BJJ, this is good for those looking to learn self defense. Our fundamental classes goes deeper into the sport of BJJ with more techniques and positions.
IS BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU SAFE?
BJJ is a safe sport and martial art, it is one of the only martial arts where you can safely train with a full resisting opponent and not get injured or hurt. Of course accidents can happen but we encourage our students to train in a safe manner reducing the risk of injuries and accidents.
WHEN CAN I START?
The best time to start is now! You can find our timetable here.
We have classes early morning at 7am for those wanting to train before work, and classes from 6pm onward for those coming back from work. We have a shower available for students to use before and after classes, so you can go to work or home directly from training.
